Mesa Alteration: From a Passion for Art to a Family Business

Ali has had a deep passion for sewing and design since childhood, gaining extensive experience in the field. In 2015, he moved to the United States and began his professional career in the sewing industry. He started by working for MEN’S WEARHOUSE for two years, specializing in men’s suits. He then worked for four years at DAVID’S BRIDAL and NORDSTROM, focusing on alterations for wedding dresses and maxi dresses. After that, he gained four years of valuable experience at SUIT SUPPLY, where he specialized in suits and men’s clothing.

Ali’s wife, Fariba, has also had a deep passion for cooking since childhood. Following her interest, she became a skilled chef and lovingly prepared delicious meals for family gatherings and friendly get-togethers.

After establishing MAHFA GROUP LLC, Fariba and Ali first registered the brand AFGHAN BANO KITCHEN. In this business, Fariba offers catering services and introduces the rich flavors of traditional Afghan cuisine. Later, they launched their new brand, MESA ALTERATIONS, to provide tailoring and alteration services.

The name MAHFA GROUP LLC is an acronym made from the initials of their family members. Ali and Fariba have four children named Mehdi, Abbas, Hassan, and Hussein, and they wanted the company name to reflect their family. This family business holds a very special place in their hearts and is run with the love and dedication of the entire family.
